The cold is here

Our temp. is in single numbers and wind chill below zero.
A magazine came it was addressed to the former owner or who ever was living here. It is a very nice magazine and there were recipies so my daughter and I have been trying them out. When I was up north I did very little cooking because Dr John likes meat and potatoes [not touching like Monk]. This has been fun. Dr John still gets his meat and potatoes because I do his meal also.
My oldest son came down and I went out with him to celebrate. We went to St George's. The building looks like a castle. My granddaughter said it 's our place, a fortress. Dr john has a cold and my daughter was still at work so only I went with them. The food was very good. We came back to our house for cake, which was also very good. Dr John and my daughter got to share in the cake. It is good to be so much closer.

We are having some very cold weather for here, but it was nice for most of Jan, so I guess I can't complain. the cat comes in with his little toes freezing and then plots down with those cold paws on my legs and feet. I guess we are having out winter now.

there is nothing like family. what you did in moving was not just a gift for yourselves but an amazing gift for the grandkids....the memories will last them a lifetime.

about the cold, i'm one who can't wait for some warmer weather here too..not the horrid heat but some spring like days..it is coming Betty, it is near..

from what i have tasted over your baking, you are awesome in the kitchen. lucky those that eat your food often..enjoy the cooking!

many hugs and many thanks..much love to you.

It's almost too cold to go out today. This is a great time to stay home and try new receipes.

Ouch - and I thought 10 degrees here was bad today. The older I get, the warmer I like it. How much fun for your family to be gathered. My parents and brothers are each several hours away. It is difficult to get together except for holidays and birthdays and such.

How nice that you went out with your son. I always enjoy days out with my sons too. I am so glad you are near the family...for many reasons. It has to be fun to cook with Penny. I love cooking in the cold weather, there isnt much else to do besides eat!!! lol

I had a good time and I do not like my food touching either. My brother is the opposite thinking it all ends up in the tummy mixed up so he doesn't care what is touching what.

Mmmm, cake! Why are you and Dr. John both writing about food today? You're giving me horrible cravings, and there's barely a speck of food to be found here (no groceries and no car to go get some -- sigh). I think I'll put cake on my list, though -- I haven't had cake since Christmas! (I usually only get cake on special occasions -- come on Easter!)

Sorry it's so cold for you guys. It's chilly here, this morning, but was in the high 70's just a couple of days ago.

Crazy weather!

I'm glad you got out for a nice dinner with your kid.

Mmmm, dinner . . .

Stay safe and warm!

It has been a spell since I've stopped by. It was nice you got to be with your family. As you read this I hope your temperatures have risen and things are much warmer.

Wishing you and Dr John a wonderful Weekend

It has been colder than usual even down here in the south - but I can't complain. Through the second week of January we had very mild weather. Even over Christmas.

I am worried a little over my plants and bulbs that were trying to sneak up early and are now very cold.

Thanks for stopping by!
