Shunned by Little Ghosts and Gobblins

I didn't have one Trick or Treater. No not one. I have 13 little pastic pumpkins with little candy bars in them. I don't buy a lot of candy because I know that I will not have many children. If my house faced Michigan Ave, I would have a few more but they have to walk in a block. Last night was very cold with a lot of wind.

Growing up in Escanaba I lived on a street in the middle. We had many many trick and treaters.

Hope you had a good Halloween.

sorry no one visited you and Dr John!
my children had a really good time.
i don't take them out because there a bit young but i dress them up, decorate the house and they answer the door with all the sweets.
i enjoy it as much as them.

Two people knocked on my door last night despite the total darkness of my home. I did not pass out treats this year. Last year when I opened my door to a knock a lone man was standing there. He pushed into my home and stole the entire bowl of candy. Other than terrifying me, he did not hurt me in any way -- but that's it. As long as I am alone, the door doesn't open to strangers after dark -- Halloween or otherwise.

As wifey said, the kids really enjoyed answering the door and we had some smashing outfits come to our door. I'm not sure how Ali G fits in or the kid dressed as a giant redwood, but they all looked good.

Quilldancer: That was a very scary event and I don't blame you for not opening the door. My daughter had her candy stollen as she was out with her brothers when she was young. Her brothers ran after the guy but did not catch him.

Tina and Bassa: What I enjoyed is seeing all the different and cleaver costumes. Missed them.

I am sorry you had no little ghost or goblins....it was a rainy night here but since I live right in the center of town, I would get halloweeners if there was a snowstorm!

Too bad. We quit doing Halloween a few years ago when we noticed that more and more of the kids were in high school and driving from neighborhood to neighborhood. Personally, I think high school is a little too old to trick or treat.

Awwww...I'm sorry. I live in an apartment and it would drive me crazy if I couldn't see all the trick or treaters. I love the little ones in their cute princess and super hero costumes.

Maybe next year....

We were just talking about how next year we will have to come to your house to trick or treat with the kids.

The first year I was on my own I bought tons of candy for trick or treaters. I even did little baggies so each kid would have a few of each kind of candy I had. But I only had like 3 knocks at the door. But don't worry, the candy was eaten! LOL!

We only had two, Betty - and that was only because in the afternoon I asked their dad if they would be coming over. We have been here 8 years and when my children were young, we would take them to our previous neighborhood for Halloween. I imagine the kids here now do the same, as there are only 7 houses on our road and the next road is far away.

Thanks for stopping by!

Betty - I just noticed your very nice slide show in the corner - how do you do that?

The only little trick or treater I had was my own. Which could be a bad thing. =O) Katie really lucked out with tons of candy and we only visited about 10 different homes of people we knew. Tough on me, for she's been tweeked out on sugar and misbehaving all week.

:sigh: Wanna help me eat up some of this candy?

I noticed fewer trick or treaters here too. I think people are getting more nervous about letting their little ones go trick or treating and they organize private parties instead. It's sort of sad.
