Folk Dancing
When I was at the word and song festival there was a group of young folk dancers called the Kivajat Dancers. One of their dances pictured was a contest. The dancers danced around the crossed sticks until they touched them then they had to sit down. The last one standing was the winner. The music would increase in speed as they danced. The last two girls were sisters. They have other dances and I enjoyed them so much.

Hey! Our P.E. teacher taught us this dance the year I was in 4th grade. In 5th grade we did "sword" sances, but with plastic pipe instead of swords, so no clumsy dancers actuallly lost any limbs. Thanks for reviving those fun memories!
How cute! You're pictures came out really good despite what had to be moving subjects.
I am glad you had a good time. We will do our version of the dance when you come visit us......ok....not really.
Sent by Dr. John. so you know him?

Open the Fortress gates, there's a whole flock of Dr. John marathoners headed your way and the dragon is right behind us!
That looks like a fun game! Katie has been dance/exercising with me in the afternoons and this would be something to help make it funner for the both of us. She is really starting to look forward to our exercise time now. Which is great - she pushes me to make sure I do it.

(I would put Dr. John's name here in this comment but instead would rather find out what you call him? Do y'all have a pet name for eachother after all of these years together?)
Is this an ethnic dance?
Playing six degrees of Dr. John.
I love to watch folk dancing of all kinds. I haven't seen that but it sounds like fun.
I bet that was fun to watch! Wish I could stay and chat but Im running Dr Johns marathon....you know him???? ...you are his link of the day. LoL
i have seen that dance being done in a tv show a while ago. i couldn't believe how fast those feet go and not trip or fall. i'm glad you enjoyed yourself.
i thank you for your kind words and prayers. the autumn pictures are just beautiful. love the colors. here via your wonderful hubby, dr. John..hugs.
I am only hewre because Dr. John sent me. You know I would never stop by otherwise ....
I'm impressed at their talent. If it were me, I'd have kicked my own sticks, the sticks of my neighbors, and crashed into that coat rack in the background... And that would be before the music even started!
For your sake, I hope Dr. John is a better dancer than me!
Folk dances are nice to see. They are lovely and lively. Just passing by to say hello from Dr. John.

I LOVE FOLK DANCING!!! My best friend's parents use to dance at the local rec. center in my hometown. We would go just to watch them. It looks like so much fun.
I don't have very good hand-eye coordination, so I doubt I'd be much better at a dance like this.
I am willing to pay you for the items you have....?
Hi Betty

Have a wonderful week
Hi betty,

Betty, you are so funny!
Betty,
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I received the box today and I feel like a kid at Christmas!!!! I just love the patterns and floss and well . . .everything! Thanks a ton!!!!
Dr. John,
I have had a tough couple of days. I was slighted and felt very low. Then I remembered the wise words you left on my blog many weeks ago, reminding me about forgiveness. I then spent a few days doing nothing but reading scripture and pondering. I was summarily reminded that if Christ could forgive those who trespassed against Him, then certainly I, with only divine potential and minute harm, should be able to do the same.
Your words are wise, your visits always welcome. Thank you for reminding me of this key eternal principle.
they are very colorful, and look like they are having alot of fun. Must have been an enjoyable day!
:)
These kids have been dancing for over a week! I bet they are exhausted! But I sure hope you aren't, Betty. Are you getting enough rest in all your chores?
I would love to see that also, I love stuff like this, what Nationality do they represent?
