Rummage Sale

The weather was perfect for both days. Friday we had many people. It was nice because we paid $3.00 and they put our name on a map . People came from all over. Everyone seemed to like the railroad and Dr John would say you can have the railroad for 100.000+ and we will throw in the house. All of our bigger items went except a uncomfortable computer chair and a youth bed which I couldn't bring up from the basement. It was not heavy but awkward. Some people came back with their children to see the train.

I filled the car again with things for the dump. Not from the sale yet, but junk from the basement. Monday is garbage day and I have bags in the garage for them to pick up. I have to get to bed so I can get up early and get those bags out.

Glad the sale was good! I am also glad it wasn't too much stress. Sometimes those sales can make for very long days.

what a deal for 3 dollars! we definetely don't have something like that here Betty. i'm glad so many found their way over and bought so many treasures and enjoyed both your company and the train..they are lucky ones..

honey is there not a youth or someone around that might for a couple of bucks not do all the hard lifting for you. you are working so hard Betty. i truly wish you didn't have to. i know you can handle it but you must be getting really tired.

i like Dr. John's sense of humor...the train for a hundred thousand would be an amazing deal, and then their is the house!. i hope it sells soon!

i hope you are sleeping in. i hope you rested good through the night. thank you for the wonderful comment. i would love a picture like that of all of us too. that is really what we are, all of us, holding hands through cyber space. maybe someday, we be lucky enough to have like a bloggers reunion...

so many hugs Betty. thank you for being such a wonderful person to inspire us all.

i'm so sorry about Bree. hope your sis is doing well. many hopeful thoughts that Pennie is not suffering with her hand.

For some reason I love to watch the Heavy Trash trucks come by once a month an haul aff stuff my house. It's kind of uplifting.

Glad things went well.

Glad to hear that your sale went well. I have never had luck with having a yard sale. I never make any money. I'd just rather take it to goodwill than sell it

Glad your sale went well. We used to get a kick watching people who went around neighborhoods to find stuff on trash day. Never will forget the people who grabbed an old leather "bar" that we threw out. I'm not much on rummage sales. But I really do need to get rid of a lot of stuff. Especially if we can find a cheaper, smaller place. I'm thinking of trying to sell some things on eBay. I'm getting tired of hauling things around for 30+ years.

I knew I should have brought the bed up from the basement! Sounds like you had a good sale and the kids liked the rain.

I like the joke about buying the train and throwing in the house.....funny!

Dr. John has quite a sense of humor doesn't he......haha......

Well I am so glad to hear your sale went well. I can well imagine how tired you are. I have done sales, anyway you work them...they are lots of work.

Our sales have a bit of trouble because we are way at the back of a huge sub division, if anyone in the front part of the division has a sale, they assume that is the sale being advertised, and go no further. The last sale I had, it was my bad luck to have this happen.......I guess they don't even read the address, they just see sale, and the first one they find, they stop. The people having that sale began telling them there was another up the road, and finally a few people came. But I can't be sure that won't happen again if I have another, and it wasn't worth the effort.

I so need to get motivated to get a yard sale going. I told my husband to take everything to Goodwill before I got back from Wisconsin. He had to go on a trip and then got sick. So it never made it there. Now I am back to contemplating it again. Right now, if it doesnt rain Saturday I will go ahead and have it. I am kind of hoping for rain. :-)
